regarder en arrière

I miss this chick, my old roomie :]

We had a blast at the Plaza Art fair, after literally devouring our dishes at LuLu's.
We walked around, took pictures, laughed at art, were amazed by art,
enjoyed the weather, and laughed a lot.
Here's some pics of our little adventure:

There are a few times a year that I look forward to: Christmas, Halloween, my birthday, other people's birthdays, New Years Eve, Thanksgiving, and.... the Plaza Art Fair.

I'm going tomorrow with my old beloved roommate, Kelsey. We couldn't be more excited. I've gone twice before and each time it is a magical night that I long for each year. If you can make it, it's from 5-10 pm at the Country Club Plaza in KC,MO. I suggest you go go go.

jellybelly

There is just something about gray. You can wear it with anything, in any season, and it's always flattering. I got this scarf for ten bucks at la' Target and I got my mudda one too.

oh and, what the heck here is some school spirit.
I've had this shirt but it's been too hot to wear
JCP baby.

people are strange

I have no idea how to categorize myself. So I'm just going to describe. Lately I've been thinking...what type of person am I?
I came up with the conclusion that I'm "quirky" and "weird" and "slightly neurotic." In fact, I'm probably weirder than you.

I am extremely clean and organized. There is a color, name, and place for everything in my a) apartment, closet, bathroom b) backpack c) car...etc. I am always planning ahead, writing to-do lists, and constantly analyzing. However, I'm the most impulsive person I know. Not to seem narcissistic, but the spur-of-the-moment ideas I have usually are the best. Out of nowhere, I decided to adopt a dog, paint my bathroom green, and go brunette after years of being blonde (not all in one day). I will say, though, that going brunette was a good idea at first, but it ruined my life for a good 6 months. I'm okay now. It just wasn't my color.

I don't know where I got these traits, but how do you put a neat and tidy person into the same category as impulsive and daring? Who knows. I guess it works for me.

I am also dating the most perfect person for me. Jake isn't much of an adventurer, but he is willing to go a distance for what he wants. EXAMPLE: Last weekend he and I drove to Kansas City so he could buy some Tippin's Pies from Hen House. They are really good pies and, damnit, he was going to get them! So we drove an hour there and back. It was worth it. I don't know if I encourage him or confirm him, but we are a good match. And that's why we just celebrated our four year anniv....just had to throw that in there :)

MORAL:
If you want to drive to the Kansas City Plaza just to eat some Coldstone ice cream that you could buy anywhere else but don't want to because you just want to go to the Plaza and not spend a ton of money, do it.

If you want to drive an hour to your favorite restaurant on a Wednesday night just to have an appetizer by yourself, just because you are hungry, want some alone time, and love LuLu's Noodles, do it.

And if you want to get a modern-shag haircut after having long luscious locks for year, do it.

I've done it all, and it makes me happy. Some people just think I'm weird.

I will leave you with this, the best impulse decision I ever made:

happy sunday

I'm so excited to share this stuff. Ok, first off: I went to Hy-Vee today and I got a lot of stuff out of the ordinary. In the organic section I picked up a bunch of goodies, including dark chocolate covered ginger candies. You scoop them into a baggy and purchase them by weight. They taste like chocolate gingerbread cookies. So good.

Second, I recommend everything in this pile. It is all delicious and healthy. Have you ever had almond butter? It's the best thing I've ever tasted. Okay maybe not ever, but it's close. From left: Garden salsa Sun Chips, Quinoa, almond butter, Triple Leaf detox herb tea, Cascadian Farm organic granola (I'm addicted).

This is a miracle in a jar: coconut serum does wonders for your hair, and it smells pretty nice.

This is what my apartment smells like after my trip to B&BW: PUMPKIN. (that's a little ceramic pumpkin my mom gave me)

This scarf is the coolest! It's stretchy-elastic and it doesn't open like usual scarves. It's a continuous circle of fun colors and stripes, plus it's warm :) JcPenney.

I love this faux leather jacket. It's feminine with ruffles on the sleeves, collar, and down the zipper. I've been searching for a cute jacket that actually fits me, and this is the one! Can't wait to wear it this fall. That's all for my recent findings. Happy, happy sunday.

LONGEST POST EVER, apologies.
