As a broke college student, birthday money serves the purpose of survival. It's not to be used for frivolous wants and desires, but to pay for rent, gas, and to put into savings.
However, once in a while it's nice to use a bit of that money for the things you need but normally wouldn't buy yourself because it's an indulgence. Today I bought the Philosophy micro face wash.
It's super fine, gritty, and resurfaces your face to be smooth and soft.
It's like millions of little guys scrubbing away at the dull surface of your skin. It's fragrance free and paraben free. A must have, ladies and gents.

When the weather is at its peak of intensity, the only thing to do is stay cool, relax, and drink iced tea and coffee. I'm hoping the weather cools down a little (or a lot) before Kanrocksas and moving into my new apartment, otherwise these things may be a challenge...

My first homemade jam! Strawberry and Blackberry.

1 cup strawberries, mashed
1 cup blackberries, mashed
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice

Boil all ingredients in a pot until rolling, simmer for 10 minutes
Place cooled jam into sterile jar
Refrigerate and enjoy

My face is too hot for the internet
