And if you do love coffee, i suggest you try the Vanilla Nirvana at Dunn Brothers Coffee - infinite black, cold pressed coffee with vanilla cream. Desire.

Won't somebody come along
And teach me how to keep it alive?
To survive.

Come along and show me something
That I never knew in your eyes.
Take away the tourniquet.

I used to be so full of my confidence,
I used to know just what I wanted and just where to go.
More than ever I could use a coincidence,
But now I walk alone and talk about it when I know
Something about the city enthralls me

drink this, not that

Fruit infused water - beautiful, and healthy. But mostly...tasty.

Besides my roller-coaster of a relationship with coffee drinks, I've adopted a new strategy to manage my cravings and feel refreshed. I guzzle down a class or two of lemon water. I'm excited to try cucumber and orange water. I hear great things. Each drink has unique benefits, from hydration and refreshment, to cleansing and appetite curbing.

plus I think these just look pretty

take it to go! pour it over ice! add mint leaves!
Slice fruits and veggies and let them soak in a pitcher of purified water over night.
I hope you enjoy.

love hut

This post might be somewhat of a contradiction and I'm prepared to reap the consequences: this post is about coffee. My last post was about anti-coffee and how I'm giving it up.

Let me rephrase that, "I'm giving it up as a daily habit thing, but it's okay once in a while."

There.

And once in a while, I loooooooove to get some Baristas Coffee. Baristas Daily Grind has two locations in KS (Lansing, conveniently/dangerously walking distance from my house, and in Leavenworth by the Missouri bridge). The cute little huts are small but they pack a serious flavor punch, full of family hospitality and warmth. I usually go for the specials that they have on their chalkboards.

They have something for every season.

The last drink I got, that I suggest you try, is called Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Chai.
This concoction is vanilla chai, a shot of espresso, kahlua and cinnamon syrups. I haven't stopped dreaming about it since.

goodbye for now

You and I have been together for a long time, and I cherished every moment. I wanted you when I couldn't have you, and I was satisfied when I did. I often liked to feel your warmth seep through my bones, enlighten my soul. Your sweetness was nothing short of breathtaking. But lately it's been different. When we take a break, I'm left feeling tired, droopy, and shaky. Your sweet bitterness no longer leaves me feeling refreshed. My addiction has gone long past its due, and yes, you are being replaced by another.
So long, for now, coffee.
