6 year anniversary

I stood in the exact spot on top of the Halls parking garage six years ago today, with one of my best friends. And tonight I got to take one of my other best friends with me to the plaza lighting. It was beautiful. At first we were like, "why is everyone so excited about lights?" (even though secretly we were anticipating the countdown just as much as everyone else). And when they turned on, it was more beautiful and moving than I had imagined it would be.  Ah the power of tradition and shiny things.

But before I headed out, my mom and I were trying to figure out how to use the flip camera on her new ipad mini. We succeeded, I think.

Giving thanks

Since it's the day before the day before Thanksgiving, I wanted to give thanks to important people in my life. It's especially important for me to thank people this month because I'm so pleasantly surprised with how amazing everyone has been to me!

1. I want to thank my friends. I've had some really good laughs and fun times with each of you and I wouldn't be the person I am today without your love, support, and words of encouragement. I'm excited to be spending some quality time with new friends and old ones. You make life less terrifying.

2. My family - especially my sister, mom, and aunt. You three have been especially supportive in helping me decide my dreams and accomplish what I want to do.

Annual truffle balls

Let the dessert making commence! It's that time of year again that I start making my beloved oreo truffles that seem to be quite popular among the masses.

Recipe:

1 package oreo cookies

1 package chocolate almond bark

1 package cream cheese

Grate cookies, mix with cream cheese, roll into balls, chill for 20 minutes, heat chocolate and cover balls (this is the hard part), add topping of choice, chill again :) 

Tis the season

This ornament is cute and festive. Jen has taken a beautiful slice of wood and painted red and green polka dots. It hangs from bakers twine. Perfect for the holidays
