pin-up!

I found these pins made by PaperPumpkin on Etsy. Are these adorable or what? They have something for everyone. I just have to say props to them for making something so cute and usable.

stop this train

so scared of getting older. i'm only good at being young.
so i play the numbers game to find a way to say that life has just begun

My roommate and I went on a christmas ornament and light hunt at the store and ended up finding a bunch of things (that we didn't need) but would make our apartment beautiful and cheery with christmas spirit. We've transformed our abode into a winter wonderland that we look forward to coming home to and relaxing in..and we had fun doing it! Thanks, Cambria!

Back in Lansing, I had a fun night with some friends by the fire + smores. Twas a good Thanksgiving break.

butter up, baby

It's crucial during these winter months (or whenever it starts to feel like it), that I moisturize heavily. I can already feel the effects of the weather on my skin. The Body Shop sells these all natural body butters for $8 each, and they come in amazing scents. My two faves are cranberry joy and spiced vanilla. I need to go to KC to stock up!

the warmth

Who said work shoes couldn't be cute? And comfortable, and affordable, and warm? If I have to buy work shoes for the winter, I might as well get some really nice faux suede boots, from Payless! I'm deciding if I want to take off the design strap in the front, it's detachable. But all in all, I love these bootz.

And this wooden-bead, cloth covered necklace is beautiful.
Definitely going on my Christmas list. $14.99 at World Market

what's your favorite thing?

There are things we all can't live without, dramatically put. Of course, the usual food-cell phone-shelter-affection-money-etc tops the list, but there are still things we see hidden in our purses and stuffed underneath the seats of our cars that we simply would go nuts without. I personally have a few things that are always with me. After looking at myself every day in the mirror, I noticed a trend.

What would I do without my:

Burt's Bees Chapstick

My Champion Fleece pullover ( I have it in hot pink and creamy white)

My KU Camelbak water bottle

My iPod.

Clinique Dramatically Different face lotion

And, a scarf.

These are a few of my little necessities. What are YOUR must-haves?

warm up my soul

Late-afternoon coffee is the best. It feels better than morning coffee, gets rid of that 2 o'clock feeling, gets me through my workout, and just tastes better. It's warm and soothing. Late-afternoon coffee or tea has become a pretty routine habit for me these past few weeks, although i've always liked it. Coffee after a big dinner is the best way to end a meal. After Thanksgiving dinner, my boyfriend's family always offers me coffee and it's always amazing. That's probably what got me started. You should try it, coffee lovers.

AND: I'm excited to start making homemade ornaments with my roommies. It's a girl thing.

proudest monkey

Oh HEY it's November, and it's my second favorite month, after December. It's time for Planter's Winter Spiced nuts! I'm nuts for these nuts. They are sweet, salty, an cinnamon-y. It's the treat that I just gotta have, no thinking required, no shame. They are so perfect and delicious - you have to try them.

Also wonderful is Archer Farm's Honey Cinnamon Roasted Almonds. GOSH!

P.S. MY SISTER HAS LAUNCHED HER NEW PAPER DESIGNS SITE!!
