"Happiness is not a destination. It's a way of life."

I would dig a hole all the way to China, unless of course I was there, then I'd dig my way home.
If by digging I could steal the wind from the sails of the greedy men who ruled the world.

Still you're my best friend.
After a good, good drunk, you and me wake up and make love after a deep sleep where I was dreaming.

I was feeling like a creep as I watched you asleep, face down in the grass, in the park, in the middle of a hot afternoon. Your top was untied and I thought how nice it would be to follow the sweat down your spine.

You're like my best friend.
Caught by a wave, my back to the ocean.
It knocks me off my feet and just as I find my footing, here you come again.

pretty encounters

I have a sister who knows how to make paper pretty.
She is now featured on Etsy.com with her Pokeberry Ink Press paper design company. Congrats!

I can't wait until my first purchase. I love getting the free goods but I need to be a thoughtful consumer.

Here is some of her work that you can find at pokeberryinkpress.com or on etsy.

delica

It's been a cold day with lots of snow.

I was searching on etsy for opal necklaces,
but instead I discovered these interesting decorative rocks (or are they?)
I think they're pretty, unique, and stylish.
They're made by delica on etsy.com

Take a closer look.

They're actually felt balls that look like rocks.
She also creates these awesome bowls and acorns.
No one really needs acorns, but they sure are adorable

And felt necklaces. Imagine a necklace so lightweight and chic,
like little, soft cranberries or grapes draped around your neck..

so pwwwettty.

snapshot

One day I want to buy a Canon professional digital camera. I want to be able to take pictures like these (taken by me at the Eno River Festival in North Carolina on my sister's Canon/the last picture taken at a wedding). I like the Canon EOS 60D...butttt it's going to have to wait a few years.

beautiful.

AND, babes:
Essie has the most beautiful nail polish (if you ask me). I'm a little season backwards, or forwards depending on how you look at it. I'm into light pinks, baby purples, soft blues, and matte greys.

hair lollipop

Us women really are lucky. I mean, with etsy.com, among other places, we really can find so many things to make our hair beautiful. Oh what fun!

I went a little pin-overload when I browsed through these pictures. They look like hair lollipops, yes?!

light reflections

When I was younger, I had a mini disco ball hanging from my ceiling fan's chain. I thought it was the coolest thing and not much has changed.
When I get my own place, like my OWN place...I will have a disco ball(s).

Why? Because they are awesome, because they are pretty, and because there are so many ways to decorate with them. When people come over, they will say "wow, you have a disco ball in your kitchen/bedroom/living room?" and I will proudly show them off.

And for the holidays, disco balls are beautiful in wreaths and other arrangements

sweetest goodbye

Two of my friends are leaving on the same day this week, but are going to completely different places. I wish them the best as they embark on new adventures and new paths in their lives. They both hold a special place in my heart and I will always remember our good times. That's the funny thing about life...people come and go, but they always leave their mark in your heart.
